wheel damage: repairable, pics

I took my car into the detailer for a clay job. When the guy moved the car onto the track to wash the car he curbed the rim. Of course he said that he didnt do it, and i didnt notice til i got home so they are tryin to screw me. I took pics of the rail where it ovbviously has fresh scratches (the silver rail is showing thru the rusted metal).
So, what all do you think i should do, and is the kind of damage that a wheel repair shop can handle? Color matching i know is another issue, but if the shop screws me $700 is high for an OEM wheel. Thats a good start towards some 20x10's

Thanks
Rich

pic of rail with noticable area ground off

The silver area on the rail indicates something freshly ground off the rust (ie: my poor rim)

there is a bodyshop around here (MD/VA) that can have them fixed for $150 a wheel.

Never let a car wash put you car on those rails, they always scratch rims. I always have them hand wash it, its usually around $5 more. The same thing happened to me on my current car, except it was both rims on one side.

To get it fixed, $75-$100 is reasonable.

Hey STR8DUM

after reading your post I went and checked my wheels as I have been thru a car wash twice. Sure as hell there is a very small scrape on my front drivers side.

I guess we shouldn't go thru any automatic car wash as it can probably happen in any car wash

I AGREE WITH BIGEL! WASH IT URSELF! its the safest way to go. I've take it to the car washing place once and it was horrible. I will never do it again.

no car wash involved

Maybe i didnt make it clear. I told him not to run it thru the wash. He pulled the car onto the track so to park it there so they could hose down the front.

But anyhow, the manager said he wasnt responsible bc the attendant saw the scratches before. I just dont understand why he didnt tell me as I made it a point to tell him i was concerned about scratches when i saw the car on teh track. POS shop!!

Re: no car wash involved

Maybe you should make a claim in small claims court. After that maybe they would be more willing to settle and pay the $125 it'll take to fix the wheel. i think that you have a good case with those pics. I would do it just to get back at the shop....
