anyone tried stretching the Continental Extreme Contact DW?

i'm looking at a set of new tires and have seen the reviews from tirerack to be superb. wondering if anyone has any feedback on these tires being stretched very modest 235 f on 9.5" and 255/265 r on 11"

thanks

I'm interested in the reply to this question too. I am looking for new rears and I need a 255/35 for my 10.5" and the Continental DWs seem to be great tires.

these tires are simply amazing! dry, wet, comfort, and noise levels as well

i put these on 19x9.5 and 19x11. fronts were 235/35/19 and rears were 255/35/19. the DW's run a bit fat. my current setup is just right.. not too stretched and not too fat. if i did have another set of wheels.. i would love to see the fronts on 225/35 and rear 245/35. i'll try to get some pics up soon

hahahaha

now for the pics

255/35 stretched on a 11" rear

235/35 stretched on a 9.5" front

these tires run a bit fat.. has lots of meat.. i think i could of ran 10mm less for a more aggressive stretch

i have 245/35/19 on 10.5 up front and they were alright. i flipped them a few times and lasted me almost 10k with about -5 camber. for 540 treadwear i expected longer tire life but the wear was all on the inner tread block. other low treadwear tires including other continentals with the same alignment last the same miles but wear more evenly and grip better. maybe with less camber these would do better for mileage. they grip decently for 540 treadwear, ive driven "spiritedly" thru the 74, and GMR as well as other places. the reviews are right, they felt confident in the wet and was just as good in the dry.

coincidentally i was gonna try the 255/35/19 dws for my 19x12 rears also for the 540 treadwear but CTO wasnt able to get them so i bought generals. i flipped them once at 5k and those barely have any wear after 10k with about -5 camber. im guessing ill probably be able to get at least 40k out of the rears. for 380 treadwear they grip like plastic rc drift tires in the dry but do well in the wet.

all continentals wear fast but grip decently better in wet and dry than the generals. but the generals are a tad cheaper, wear good with camber and last forever. i have no pix of the tires cuz my car is lowered down to the rim lips. dws are ok but ill probably be buying more generals in the future.
