I need a wheel setup breakdown...

Ok, so I've been searching all over on here and other forums about wheel setups. Problem is I can't get a grasp on what does what visually because no one posts pics, they just say what they have done. Everyone uses different wheels, different suspension setups, different offsets, ect and I just cant figure out what I need to get the look I want. I know what backspacing is, I know what spaces do, but I dont know what size will do what as far as looks.

Does anyone have a good reference place for this?

I'm looking at getting spaces for my stock 18's. I want them to sit flush with the body at the top of the wheel. I cant for the life of me figure out what size spacer to get.

EDIT: someone move this to the wheel section. Didnt realize there was a wheels specific area.

If you have the 7 spoke 18x8 OEM wheels, then your factory offsets would be at +30 all around.

I would suggest a 25mm spacer all around to have them sit flush. If you ever consider getting aftermarket wheels, then I suggest you visit this link here:

I suggest this website to lots of people who can't decide on offsets and tire sizes. It is a good reference.

perfect. That site is exactly what I have been looking for. thanks.

I do plan to run 20's, but I'm waiting until winter is over and the snow melts. Once that happens its getting dropped on coil overs and I will be starting over, but for now I need to run the stockers for winter tires.

Offsets depend on your drop and camber settings so it's difficult to tell you exactly what side spacers or offsets to run without knowing how low you are, what camber settings you want, etc.

I'd suggest you definitely get the coils before you decide on wheels

yeah I understand that. As soon as the snow melts I'm getting coils, so yes I will have them before the wheels. I dont want slammed though, our roads here arent friendly. I'm having a hard time finding wheels in 20" that I like, so I might go with 19's. Actually, I'm having a hard time finding wheels I like period that arent +$700/ea. I have expensive taste apparently.

check out forgestar, enkei, advan, and other companies that make 1piece forged or special cast/formed wheels like enkei. They usually provide great quality wheels at a lower budget than multi-piece forged wheels like volk and bbs etc.

I fawking love the Volk Racing GT-F wheel, but cant justify spending #3k on daily driven wheels, especially in MN... our roads are torturous.

If you went with 19" rather than the 20's you mentioned they'd stand a better chance of survival on your crappy roads since you'd be running 35s rather than 30s....fewer bent rims. Understand?

Don't think the size matters, all that matters is the quality of the wheel. I run 35 series tires on my 20's.

It all depends on your setup: drop, camber, stretch? Not to mention how aggressive you want the fitment to be... It makes a big difference in what offsets/spacers you end up running.
