need some input if you have basic knowledge on tires

Okay I bought some new tires at discount tire a while ago. I went in for a rotation today and noticed one of my directional tires was on backwards. I told them to flip it since they installed it (normally there is a charge) and because they saw welding marks where I had the rim repaired a long time ago they said they couldn't. I said well its discounts fault it was put on wrong and they shouldn't have put it on in the first place...he said there was nothing they could do. I left angry. Then they called and said they could rotate that tire with the other front one and then flip the other tire cuz it wasn't repaired. That doesn't make sense to me...that one tire would still be backwards wouldn't it?

Anyways basically I'm stuck with a backwards tire and discount should at least either refund me or find out a way to correct what they did wrong..I had tires put on this before and it was never a problem

Directional tires must run the direction the arrows are pointing, that's not an option! Tires on our G35s are not supposed to be rotated but I'd go to another tire shop and have that directional tire corrected. Now you know not to ever do business with Discount tire, there are far to many tires stores that are willing to do their job correctly without putting up with that B.S.!

Call corporate they will refund you for sure.

I can't believe someone at a tire shop is a big enough dumb *** to put a directional tire on wrong. What an idiot. You should be able to hear the retarded road noise from running it backwards.

Make it clear to the corporate office that they insisted that running a directional tire backwards was fine.

Lol they really did. The guy said it wouldn't make any difference at all it was just for 'safety precautions' in my head I though 'wtf then you guys would get sued if something was to actually happen' I'm gonna call tomorow. The guy at discount insisted that if he rotated the 2 front tires with each other, and flipped the one that wasn't repaired then it would fix things. I said itd still be backwards and he acted like I was stupid.

Not sure, I'd demand a refund on the rotation and maybe a discount on your next set of tires.

Cody, what kind of set up do you have that you can rotate your tires? Same size rims and tires front and back with aftermarket wheels?

The last tire shop I visited I had mount 275/19's and 245/19's on my new wheels.

After I paid and went out to the car I thought "Why is the lip deeper on the front passenger wheel than on the rear passenger wheel?"

Yup. Idiots bolted the rear wheel on the front, and the front on the back. The service tech was at the car waiting to hand me the keys, so I asked "You guys realize this car is rear wheel drive, correct?"

It was funny watching how red faced he got.

Then just today I had the coupe's oil changed at Valvoline Quick Lube. "You're overdue for a tire rotation" the tech told me.

This was not five minutes after I asked them to hit the lug nuts with an impact wrench because I'd just swapped my summer tires for snow tires. Nevermind that tires don't get rotated on a coupe. I guess they don't understand that if I wanted my snow tires rotated, I'd have done it this morning when I put them on in my garage.

Really makes me feel confident they know what they're talking about when they tell me my serpentine belt was "dry rotted" and "had to be changed". Yeah, right. I think I'll take care of that myself.

He doesn't want to flip the tire with the weld because of liability. The rest is just BS. just take it to another shop.
