Brake Pads

Anyone have any suggestions on dust free (or very little dust) brakes pads for the G Coupe (non-brembos). I did a quickie search in this forum and there was one suggestion to try Satisfied pads from Tirerack. Has anyone tried them or another brand, if so, was it a major improvement over the oem? The reg pads only take about a month before they look like the above. Main pic taken from my friend's G35 (really, I swear!). Thanks.

"Only a month?"

Try less than a week.

Use the search feature on this site and look for "brake dust" and you should find lots of suggestions. I'm still using the dealer-supplied free-replacement pads myself. That issue has been talked to death, and there are quite a few suggestions.

Well, when you only put 500 miles/month. They look like that.

I already did a searched as mention above, I spent two hours reading outdated posts.

Never mind. You may delete this thread.

I changed to Hawk HPS (high performance street) brake pads, very little dust and quiet. Highly recommend these.

Re: Brake Pads

I changed to the Hawke Street pads. The improvement is amazing. Easy to install and well worth the money. Got mine at Tire Rack.

Re: Brake Pads

The major downside with after markets is the shift of cold starting point friction higher up the scale. To gain some at >600F point

Most start working well at 100F instead of oem requirements for an effective 1st stop at 10F.........in cold weather you have to remember to constantly preheat the pads by applying brakes lightly and frequently if you expect oem cold stopping distances in emergencies.

Federal testing starts at 100F, unfortunately there are no standards for colder than this braking except vehicle manufacturers internal requirements.

So aftermarket companies call COLD................... 100F
