SSR Disk type

Tried to search but couldn't find anything. Is anyone here running SSRs with Akebonos? Looking at purchasing a set of SSR MS1s but unsure if the disks will fit

F Medium Disk
R Super Low Disc

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Definitely not R... it won't clear at all. For brake clearance you want a higher disk. I would say you're probably safe with the medium and worst case scenario might need a 5mm spacer. I wouldn't do any disk but the F or lower because any higher and you're going to lose a substantial amount of lippage.

As far as I know g37 coupe and 370z with akebono needs to run HP disk in the front and Normal Disk in the rear on MS1 wheels.

But I would go and ask SSR they should know more about the fitment... they're always helpful to me.

Sorry I meant F as in Front and R as in Rear

What I was afraid of, might need to contact them, but thought they are always more conservative ie. will tell you you need HP when Med will clear

I couldn't find name's for their disks, do you have a chart?

Normally if they have a well laid out chart, they will actually give you the template to check for BBK clearance.

I'll see if I can find you the universal template

Ask higrev how much clearance he has up front because I don't think Akebonos would need Hype disk. I'd say medium front and normal low. But as said before, if you call SSR they should be able to tell you for specifically.

Thanks. I'm waiting to hear back from SSR and a couple of other people I've asked. This guy (http://myg37.com/forums/picture-shar...ics-9-7-a.html) is running medium and super low rears and he has akebonos, so that's giving me hope but would like to confirm with a few other people first

According to this G37 sedan:

http://myg37.com/forums/picture-shar...ics-9-7-a.html

You can see the Akebonos thru the spokes.

And this is what he put as his set-up:

"Super black Chrome 20x9 et19 mid disk 225/35, 20x10 et37 Lo disk 255/30."

I have a set on the way and I went with a similar set-up but I went 10.5" in the rear.

Their Sp1 has the most clearance of their wheels and the Sp3 is next I think.

98Intrigue: your car looks great with those wheels, why are you selling them?

Thank you. I'm always looking for something new...and I've found them plus, there are 3-4 370s now with the SP3s. I like to be different.

Kinda late on this thread...but in case you haven't found out. I'm running a HP disk on my SP1's and plan to use Akebono's. When I tested with the template it seems to have about credit card clearance between the spoke and the caliper.

98intrigue - I love your Z! You should keep your wheels! If they were only in 20's i'd be all over your wheels!
