Almost Bought It Over the Weekend...

Over the weekend, I was standing waiting for the light (NJ) to change when a white sedan pulled up to my sedan. As soon as the light changed green, he floored it and I took off right after him. Anyway, we get onto the West 78 and I could sense that I was going to catch up to him since there was a slight curve coming up before a straightaway and he was slowing down. What's more, I felt confident because I had my NISMO sway bars and I would certainly pass him there. Boy was I WRONG! OMG it was there that I almost totaled my car and almost skidded into his car. All I know is that as I hit the curve doing about 75 that my car under steered to the right and then I quickly cut the wheel to the left. Luckily I some how managed to regain control of the car and avoided his car in the process. However, it was the scariest moment of my life. Anyway, I think that I have learned my lesson and will try to avoid this kind of machismo in the future. However, what really shocked me what that I had this false sense of security just because I had upgraded my sway bars...I should have known better!

Take your car to the track first and get to know it...You should never try something that dangerous on public roads ever. I'm glad you're alright though.

Yeah Gaudioman that sounds like really good advice. Like I said earlier it was pretty scarey, especially since I was totally caught off guard.

Learn how to drive is important. And knowing your own car is important too. The G can handle very well but it understeer a lot. Learn how to drive a manual, especially learn to do heel to toe shifting. It allows you to brake later before a turn and give you more traction in a turn when you downshift.
