Tire help please

I have an 04 g35 coupe and I am due for some new tires. I was considering getting a wider tire in the rear. what do you guys recommend? I'm keeping my stock wheels. I am currently running 245/45-18.

Going much wider is a little hard since the stock wheels are only 8" wide.

You could do a 255/45 but I personally would not mount anything wider than a 255 or it will start to bulge over the side of the wheel.

Yup, the 8" wheels is the G35 curse. Not much you can do w/out buying new wheels. The 255's are a bit tight and aren't really the right diameter either.

So what would be the issue if I ran 275/40-15 in the rear?

It would look stupid as **** and be ugly. It would bulge over the edge of the wheel and might actually have a hard time staying seated....

I unmounted a 255/35/18 today from an 8" wheel and it was starting to stick out past the lip. Don't go wider than 255/35 on an 8. If you want to go more aggressive you need new wheels.

There is a pic in the pic section of a coupe running a 275/35/18 on stock wheels.
It doesnt look right.
