Question about Tires

I'm so pissed off. I have to buy new tires already and the car isn't even two years old. Is this normal?

Re: Question about Tires

For Michelin Pilot Sport tires yes. As sport tires, they're soft, but they hug the road like a champ. That said, I'm hearing most getting under 25K miles with them. Of course if you drive conservatively, but why would you with a coupe, you could milk out more I'm sure.

Re: Question about Tires

Ditto. I just had to buy 2 rear tires last night. I only got 21K on them. I put on Goodyear Eagles.

Re: Question about Tires

I am in the same boat @ 16k, however, only my rear right is almost bald. The left looks like its still got some tread left. I took the car to one track day and I think that wore it out alot.

to Delta: does your car drive differently after putting different tires on?

Re: Question about Tires

Yes, the handling is much improved. I think I burned out the Michelins by driving on a major highway that was being repaved ( for 3 months ). That cheese grater surface can't be good for soft performance tires.

Re: Question about Tires

I had 12,700 on my michelins and could not take the road noise any longer tires were chopped up due to their softness had tread on my front very little on my rear. Replaced them with P-zero nero's last week... LOVE THEM......

My G-35 has 21,000 and my Goodyear Eagles are still holding up pretty well. I have not seen any sign of wear compared to some of the comments. I do not drive my car every day. Basically on the weekends and that is about it. I guess the goodyear is the choice for me.
