I got a question, actually what is the difference between HRE 545R and I-forged Aero in term of the model/shape. I know that they are completely different brand, but they look very similar. I can't make a judgement coz I never see them in person.

well i've actually had both of those rims and they only difference i could tell is that the iforged ones the spokes are alittle bit skinner, but thats pretty much it, and the reason i say had because just recently my brand new aero's were stolen from my car. I woke up last friday morning to go to work to find my car sitting on 4 bricks and my door where the keyhole goes ripped open to gain access to the inside of my car, sad sad day.

 

wow... so sorry to hear that. so you're saying that you have HRE on now? but in terms of quality which one do you think is better?

I used to have a 01 Trans Am Ram Air before the G and thats when i had the hre 545's. In terms of quality i personally couldn't really notice a difference. They both look top notch, but i was also told and heard that hre's were a better brand hence the more expensive price. Hope that helps

 

Also HRE is a more popular brand. People would always tell me "wow you have hre's?!?!?!", but i think iforged is slowly moving it's way up to that status.

 

yeah.. I agree.. HRE wheels are very expensive..
I heard that right now HRE is pretty messed up. I mean that alot of people complain coz they did not get the wheels on the promised date. is that true?
I know that this been happening alot with I-forged...

Did you have the door-lock mod on your car when your rims got jacked? Did you have rim locks? How many? That sucks man [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img]

 

Well in terms of waiting for my HRE's. Yes I did have problems with promised dates and delays, overall it took about 3 months for me to get them. As for that door-lock mod u speak of no i didnt have it. What i figured out acouple days later was that where the guys ripped open the door which was just below the keyhole, there's like alittle lever and if u stick your finger in the hole and push down the lever the windows automically lower. So i'm assuming the guys that did it where very skilled in what they were doing. Also yes i had locks, 1 on each wheel.

 

man.. we should put 5 locks in each wheel now...

Yea when I get my rims I m seriously thinking of putting a different set of locks per wheel. Thats crazy and not leaving it anywhere obvious in the car.

Most of the cars I have seen including my brothers nissan 240 have the hole just below the keyhole/rear part of door handle to gain acess to the lever. In fact I know that its the same design and preferred method for stealing mkII Vdubs as well.

 

To make a set of HRE and deliever it is about 8 weeks, but I-Forged is much worse as far as I heard.

But quality on both are still good.
