but i dont know what width to get.

-can 8.5 fit in the front? if so, what offset should i go for (im lowered btw).
-and should i go staggered or do 8.5 in the rear as well?
-and finally, what is max tire size to fit on 18x8.5(assuming i can fit those in front).

Re: sedan rim help!!!!******

I've seen a lot of people here with 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the back. No lip on the rims?

Re: sedan rim help!!!!******

I'm running 18x8.5 w/ a 40mm offset with 245/40R18's at both my front and rear. To me, that is a perfect offset [flush with outside of fender]. That setup had zero rubbing issues with the stock sports suspension.

Since then I've lowered the car 1" in the front and 0.75" in the rear [even wheel well gap now, HKS Hipermax LS coilovers]. I still have zero rubbing issues, but I was told by the installer that I wouldn't be able to drop much further [maybe another 0.25" before I started to run into some rubbing issues [non-rolled fenders].

As a side note, my current wheel set up is about 0.5" smaller in diameter versus the stock 17" wheel with the Goodyear GSD's.

any chance of fitting 255/40/18 on 18x8.5 without any issues with rubbing or anything else?

Re: sedan rim help!!!!******

im running 18 by 8 with 45mm offset. the offset is perfect with all 4 tires pushed out flush to the fenders. for tires i have 245/45 they are nice but next time im going with 245/40. my wheels/tires weigh apox. 48.5lbs and my stock 17s wheels/tires weighed about 46lbs. i belive there is a good 2.5-3lbs weight difference in a 245/45 and 245/40 tire.

Re: sedan rim help!!!!******

The tire weight depends on the manufacturere of the tire as well so look around to see if you can find a 245/45 in the weight you want.

blackonblack - what brand of tire are you running?
that seems pretty heavy for a wheel/tire combo. if you're concerned about weight, you should go with a 18" ssr proffessor (15 lbs) or something.

Re: sedan rim help!!!!******

lighter rims are good and all, but they will bend easier. thats a scary thought to have your rims crack or bend while driving.
