Guys,

After doing extensive research in these forums I purchased some Blizzaks for my '03 sedan. They were awesome for Michigan driving. Now that it's summer, should I take these off and try to sell them? I don't have any other tires to put on it (the old one's were spent). I'm moving to FL this summer and don't need the blizzaks, but would it be more cost effective to just keep them on until they're burned? Not sure how much it's affecting handling/gas mileage.

If I take them off, what's a good pair to put on? I don't need anything crazy aggressive, just something that's "decent" and economical. I won't be doing any more winter driving, so I'm wondering how much of a waste the dang Blizzaks were...

Winter tires typically wear out quickly when driven on dry roads due to the soft compound. However it may be tough to sell them this time of year and even tougher to sell them in Florida next winter. The best option may be to just keep them on until they wear out. They should make it at least a year depending on your driving habits.

Thanks, that's probably what I'll end up doing. I'll just revisit which tires to get when these puppies wear out in a year or so. I guess then at least I can put off paying for new tires for a little while

I would sell those blizzaks. It's more a safety thing: those blizzaks are NOT designed to run in 100* temps and perform well.

I'd visit tire rack, or continental's website for an explanation of this whole theory.

Just get some summer tires, you can get some V12 for 650 a set. You can sell your winters for a few bucks later and you won't be out that much.

got it... sounds like I might want to replace them ASAP then. I don't know that much about tires, seems like everyone's got something different so say on which brand is best for which type of driving.

I always feel like the tire companies are trying to rip me off. Any advice on where to go to get them swapped and buy new one's? Is Belle Tire or Discount Tire a bad idea? I'll have to do some research on those V12s

I'd sell them. The tire will wear super quick in the FL heat and handle pretty poorly as well. Best to match the tire to the climate you'll now be in.

Financially you are best to keep them on, performance you are best to change them out. They are not a safety hazard but handling will not be as good as a summer tire with large tread blocks and of course they will wear fast on hot dry roads.
