Help me calculate my new offset! I suck at math.

Hey, I got a set of 17x7+35 Work VSXX for my Civic and I'm upgrading it to 2.5 inch lip so it'd be 17x9.5, what would my offset be now? I've been sitting here trying to think of the damn formula. I'm probably over thinking it. Would it still be +35?

So what was the lip size before? The spokes (or mesh) is the same on the 17x7 and 17x9.5? Meaning its the same angle, not concave or curved out more (being wider). There is no way of knowing, pad sizes can change the offset ....there is no way to know the offset.......I tried working figures, then found undentifiable variables...

Really? Is there that much to it? All I'm doing is taking apart my 3 piece wheels, changing out the outer lip to make it into a 2.5 lip. I do believe the faces changes, If I recall my friends vsxx his lug nuts stuck out more on his higher offset wheels.

every .5" bigger lip will decrease offset by 6mm

so from 7 +35 to 9.5 +5

So yes since you are keeping the same faces (would have helped to know) and assuming half the width increase is on either side of the wheel face/spokes you are looking at about a 6mm increase in offset per half inch in width

^ he did say that in the first post. He said he is upgrading to bigger lips.

As Dre said, +5

Remember your offset it moving away from center since the wheel is getting deeper. So basically whatever you add just convert it to mm and that's how much offset difference you will change.

In the case of a rebarrel (rear portion not the lip) it works the same but in the opposite affect (increasing offset)

lol, yeah unfortunately i sold my G and got a beamer lol. i already miss my G. but these wheels are going on my 8thgen civic.

yeah i checked on stanceworks about the whole .5" = -6mm of your offset. So are you telling me, that I have a 6" barrel upgrading to 3.5" lip means i'll be like -10 offset? That would be tight & insane for me at the same time. that would be massive poke lol.

i didn't think the .5 = -6mm would have applied to vsxx.

edit: ninja edit, didn't fully read with dre said. good looking out bro!
