Best performance tyres for 19"

G35 has stockish height (coilovers but not lowered much) plus sway bars and has
front: 245/40/19 on 8.5" rim ET 35 (CAN OR SHOULD I GET 255?)
rear: 285/35/19 on 9.5" rim ET 40 (BETTER OF GOING 275 or 295 if i go michelin?)

Tyres i am thinking of are
1. Bridgestone Potenze RE-11 comes in 285
2. Michelin Pilot Super Sport no 285 (295 is $100 each more per tire)
3. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S + comes in 285

I have at the moment Kumo KU31 245 and 285 and dont get any rubbing.
I am willing to roll the guards but want the best performing tyre for mountain runs but id like it to last also for DD. The super sport suppost to last around 30K and the Sport A/S + 40K I live in Goldcoast, QLD AUD so nice any sunner most of the year, no snow, some rain but not much.. Need to buy today or
tomorrow as friend is shipping a container back and i can save on postage .

What do you suggest?

IMO the RE-11 is the best tire for what you're looking for.

They grip like crazy, they are DRIVEABLE in the rain unlike most others, the price is pretty decent and they are often stocked.

I'd do a 255/35 up front, but the 245/40 would be fine as well.

+1 for 255/35 p front. I had a 265/35/20X8.5 and I regretted it once I drove a bit. I would go 275 fore sure on a 9.5

what advantages are there to getting the 255 over 245? Also any idea on tread warranty? looking at 15, 20K for rears like the Pilot Sports? I do plan on tracking the car 1-2x a year so thats why i was hesitant in the A/S +... But if its just for fun will they still hold up. I am going FI so if that makes any difference?

those are the only tires you have for best performing tire? You've got an all-season in there, and two summer tires. What is your plan? Are you keeping these on all year? From you last reply I'm assuming street/track and no winters.

Check out the Continental DW and scrap the a/s tires.

No winter weather where i live, its winter now and 20degree days still... only rains sometimes but i want grip still if it does esp in the hills..

Its my daily, 5 of 7 days its to and from work 40mins total per day. Usually each weekend (3 of 4) of each month i go driving hard with friends through the hills with tight turns. As per video which is an example of the driving im doing, im not saying its me

Thats at 2/3 pace i want to drive at with the new tyres...

I am shipping these over from USA to AUS so rather have a tyre that lasts longer as shipping is like $330..

I am open to other tyres but need to order asap. Ill check out this Continental.. Oh and as far as track days, i never done any b4 but i would like to go to some..

If you're looking for longevity then you're looking at the wrong tires.

i would be happy to get about 20,000miles on the rear, so what do you suggest?
Scrap the Continental, reading this http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...ontact-dw.html put me right off them...
Comparing to the PSS .. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=538481 i think ill go PSS but 275 on the rear, 255 on the front.

Also considering the hankook Ventus V12

You might get 20k outta the RE11s if your camber is in spec but every time you track the car take off 1000-3000kms.

This is why it's good to have track spares and street wheels.

So maybe i should get hankook Ventus V12 then and save up for some track wheels with 888s? Its like $450 savings to get the V12 over the pilot super sport. Trying to figure out which one of these two to get. I want grip esp now im going FI

You're always going to sacrifice wear if you want lots of grip.

I would recommend two sets of tires , especially since you're going to be going with forced induction and possibly tracking the car. The A/S tires would just get shredded in those situations. And running R888's or RE11's daily and with high km's will wear them down fast.

So ill go the V12s over the PSS. Will they last just as well, i cant find anything about tread wear. Id only pay the extra if it was worth it, not just 3-4% more..

Edit: Found tread wear is good, around 20-25K miles. http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-t...-evo-k110.html

So What Size for the V12, 245 or 255 on front, and for back 275 or 285 for rear and what wall height ? I currently have 245/285s

Thanks for the help guys i almost have my decision

Order placed
Hankook V12 EVO
Front 245/40ZR19 x2
Rear 285/35ZR19 x2

You'll like the Hankooks. Best tire in it's price range for driveability, grip, and low noise.
