offset

if i have a 20mm offset and want more lip in the front do i go higher offset or lower

No spacer will give you extra lip, spacers only push your wheels out. If you were to order new wheels you would want low offset for nice size lip. Also SEARCH is you friend

You would go lower offset, but not all wheels are based on "lower offset = lip"

You could do the same offset and a lower disk (assuming it will clear your brakes), which would yield you more lip.
