Frustrated new member

Hey guys,

I'm looking to purchase some wheels and tires for my coupe. After looking on the site, the VS-XX are my favorite but my wallet hates them. I'd like to know if there are some similar looking wheels (not necessarily knockoffs) to these wheels? 19's or 20's will do just fine. Budget $1800

Thanks

$1800 for used wheels seems high but I'm not real familiar with all the brands.
I've seen similar looking wheels but have no ideal what they are called or who sells them.

VS-XX are mean tho! I just figured I'd could get something similar a bit cheaper.

I see that! So, VS-XX is out for now. Do you know who makes a similar looking wheel that would carry me over until I win the lottery?

They don't have bad designs. A buddy of mine picked up a set of silver RS-10's with tires for $1400 locally at a shop.

See if there is a local dealer near you that can get you some decent pricing.

I'll give these a look. I've looked locally and got very frustrated. I live in Knoxville tn so if anyone is close by and knows any places to buy from, I'd really appreciate it.

Wouldn't recommend those at the moment. Chris (sn00p) just had his wheels haze up like a mother ****er and is having a tough time getting them replaced. the wheel are only three months old.

Look into TSW snetterton, MRR GT1 or just keep looking used. You're basically looking for a Mesh style U/V design. For $2000 you should have no problem picking up a used set of decent wheels and won't have to deal with shitty knock off companies.

Yes, I am favoring that style and this is the kind of issue I want to avoid.

So should I try the marketplace and what companies should I avoid? I do wanna upset any members that may have wheels on their ride from any vendors but is there any one place that has had known issues?

Forgestars are nice too. But stick with used volks/works etc. I picked up my gtfs for 1600, in near mint condition, very light rash on one wheel

SSR MS1 will be a little cheaper than Work VS-XX but still higher than the price range you listed. As stated before, you've got to play to play....

"champagne taste on a beer budget" look for used or keep saving up

Check out the Varrstoen 1.1.2
Some people hate on them because they are replica wheels but I like em.
They are very popular on the forum.

Damn, I didn't realize that. Thanks for the heads up, Blaine. Honestly, I only knew about these wheels because I've seen you mention them a few times as a decent alternative.
