are 255/40/19 tires ok?

I am going to be getting some new rear tires this weekend. I am going to go with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110. The size I think I am going to go with is 255/40/19. From what I have read on here is that those will fit on the stock 19" rims without any rubbing or other issues. Before I do this, does anyone disagree with these tires fitting without any issues? Thanks

They will fit fine, but will be too tall. I would recommend a 35 series profile if you plan on going 255

Does anyone else agree with going with the 35? Also this is my DD. Will going with a 35 hurt any performance or be a safety concern with going that low? Thanks

You can do either. If you daily drive and you want a little more comfort then the 255/40 will do just fine. It is actually closer to oem overall diameter than the 255/35.

How are some people putting 275/35/19's on the rear? That seems like that is too wide for this car. Any modifications have to be done to but 275's on the back? Thanks again

I have had 275/35/19's on my car for over 40k miles, and i love the look and the width on the OEM 19's.

That said, most would say stick with a 265/35/19. It is "flat" whereas mine "bulge" a slight bit, my thread on the subject:

You'll be fine with the 255/40X19 on the back with OE rims....enjoy!

In doing research for my own rears, this thread brought up a good point...

https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-...-50-18-ok.html

255/40's are 3.52% taller than the stock fronts (225/40). VDC issues?

So if I run stock 225/40/19 on the front and 255/40/19 on the back will I have vdc issues?

Someone else will have to chime in, as I am simply doing research and reading thread after thread.

I will point out that Goodyear here in Alpharetta, GA says that the Kuhmo Ecsta SPT in 275/35r19 are listed as an upsize for our stock rims.

I think I'll go with them and see what happens.

On the VDC issue, I have no clue but that thread was pretty adamant about it.

Yea you will be fine. You wont have any issues. My friend ran it like this couple of tires ago.

I am currently running brand new 225/40ZR19 up front and 255/40ZR19 on my rears. No problems so far, about 400 miles. Just that they broke my TPMS sensor so now I have a nice bright yellow light on my gauge cluster. Yep

No offense, but won't that cause the rear wheel wells to enlarge too much?

Correct, it's the same diameter as the fronts. The wheel wells are made for the extra profile on the 245's.

I think I'd risk the VDC issues than go with too low of a profile.

I want to know how 245/40 Front, and 255/40 Rear look on OEM 19s.

Does anyone here have side pictures of their car? Post them up !

I will need new tires and curious how this would look.
