Hankook Evo V12 vs. Kumho Ecsta SPT

I'm deciding between these two tires for a moderate stretch of 225/35/20 on a 9.5".

Just wondering if any members here have had any good/bad experiences with either one of these tires.

Thanks in advance!

the v12 is a much better performing tire than the ecsta. the ecsta however with the harder compound will technically last you longer than the v12 so it depends what's important to you.

Kumho tested...

Hankook tested...

Take them in their contexts and then try to apples to apples them if possible.

Nobody has much experience stretching kumhos it seems....

The hankooks stretch nicely and run true. And as long as you maintain proper tire pressure they won't bubble.

I'd recommend the Hankooks, BUT only because the kumhos aren't stretch tested...

My customers have had much more luck running the V12's.

Stretching? or in general?

I think Tim was saying he was breaking loose with the Hankooks and he wants more grip... (and he isn't boosted)

Overall on how they perform. Typically hard to rate tires based on their fitment to a wheel or style.

ok so i went with the V12's...

first of all, i gotta give props to Tire Central in San Gabriel. all you socal peeps lookin for a tire place, look no further. great customer service and they use NO power tools for high end rims.

i originally had the achilles 225/35/20 installed by them and i got a vibration over 55 mph. i went to 2 other different wheel shops to get em re-balanced and it still vibrated. i went back to Tire Central to re-balance and it STILL vibrated. i told em i wanna swap em out for the V12's. they said OK!

at first i thought i was sol and had to buy the V12's and sell the pos achilles myself, but Tire Central hooked it up.

i just came back home with the V12's and no vibration at all!
i'm never going back to achilles... what's weird is that Allan at Tire Central said i'm the first one with this problem and all the stretch guys that ran achilles had never had this problem. go figure.
