Fix Feathering - I know this has been discussed
I know this topic has been talked about until everyone is blue in the face.
My wife's STOCK 2005 G35 Coupe A/T has feathering on her passenger front. Factory ride height with the factory 17"s. Makes road noise as everyone knows.
I know there is no way to adjust camber from the factory (other than replacing bushings). The car was aligned at 48,000 when these tires were installed. The car now has 72,000 miles. The car should be engineered to allow quality tires to last more than 24,000 miles without having problems. The right front tow was set to 0.04". The Left front was set to 0.03" and the camber on the right side is -1.4" and left set at -1.1". Its a stone stock suspension.
The tires are Yokohama Avid Envigor. They are great tires, but this problem is not the tires fault.
Will replacing the compression bushings to Urethane ones help? Will doing that along with White line Inner Control Arm Bushing Kit cure this problem?
Thanks

Here's what I had/did:
Inner tire wear on all four and inner feathering on right front.
SPC front and rear camber kit installed by myself using the forum DIY's. This allowed me to dial camber back to nearly zero because it allowed me adjust the wheels to stand more upright (at the expense of some handling) and corrected inner wear (thus more even wear). However, at my alignment, the tech and I noticed that the right front (where I experienced feathering) had caster that was off spec. This is most likely caused by the comp rod bushing being shot. We set toe at .03 for each side and camber at -.5 or less but odd inner wear is still there in the RF. My only conclusion is the rod bushing is shot on my RF because the rod will effect suspension alignment. My comp rod bushings are just waiting for a nice day to go in and then it's back to the alignment shop.
If you like the car and plan on keeping it, invest in the comp rod bushings and a GOOD camber kit. They will help you get the most life from your tires.
