Question Looking for a good set of tires for stock sized 18s...

I've done a good amount of reading over the past few days, but I still wanted to get the opinions of other G35 owners who have owned their cars for longer than me (a whopping 2 months, lol).

I bought a set of 35th anniv 350Z wheels for commuting / all weather purposes. I commute 120 miles a day (mostly fwy, but some stop and go) for work and as I live in the pacific NW, there's a good amount of rain and a small amount of snow (and I mean a small amount, lol). So what would be a good tire to increase mpg and longevity of tread (last at leawst 40k if not more)?

I was looking at the Continental DWS, but would rather get something cheaper if possible. Read about the Hancook V12 as being an option as well.

Also, I'm a very spirited driver, so I need the tires to perform "decently", lol.

If you're looking for an all-season tire, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS is what I'd recommend going with. Very good all-season tire, especially for the price. Hankook Ventus V12s do perform well for their price, however they are summer performance tires. I bought some a little over a year ago and like that tire. My only gripe with it is that the sidewalls are very soft. Overall though it's quiet, offers good grip, and is inexpensive.

I'd stay away from the V12's as they are not an all season tire. Check out the DWS and Yoko Envigor. A bit better a/s traction from the DWS, tad longer life and better dry traction from the Yokos.

As Neal from TireRack posted above, I'd stick with Yokohama Avid Envigors. Solid tire and for the price, no complaints.

I was actually looking at those as well. They are about $800 installed though I was hoping to find a decent set for about $600-$700 installed range. Thanks for the comments so far!

I just bought some General G-Max AS. its like a buck fitty each for the 19's. read the review and it said that comfort is bla, but the performance on wet is awesome. i live in the pacific NE. read that it works good in the snow too. check them out.

Tirerack did a review on the Kumho's, General, Hankook and Yokohama. General was second place for handling and the Kumho's was first.

good luck.
