OK - just to wrap up this thread with a resolution. Here's what I did to fix the problem: I jacked up the car and inspected the endlinks. They were all in good shape except the front passenger-side endlink bolt was *very* loose. This explained at least part of the problem. Then I disconnected the swaybar brackets, pulled off the bushings, and greased them very liberally with water resistent, lithium grease. I mean I piled that stuff on - on the inside of the bushing, on the sides of the bushing where they contact the collars, and between the bushing and the bracket. After re-assembling everything, I went for a test drive and all is now good. Now more knocking, a very firm solid feel.

In my opinion, the grease provided with the Hotchkis kit is not enough to do the job adequately. Whatever grease you decide to use - lay it on thick!!! Also, make sure you double check all your bolts. I was about 2 turns away from the endlink bolt falling out!

Sounds good and good catch on the loose endlink, good you found that before
it fell off the car. Yes, use lithium grease liberally. inside and out.
