rays lugs... if you have them please read

hi, i just got my Rays lugs and i go to put em on my SSR and the lugs are fine.. just the tire iron im using is too bulky as in its too wide and starts to hit side of rim... hard to explain.. yanno how when u buy tuner lugs... like mcgard spline the tool allows you to get in there w/o scraping rim... cause the tireiron is too wide.. anywho... thats my problem. the 7 sided one goes fine cause the lil thing they included..

those of you who have rays nuts and a tuner shank required wheel rays/ssr what kinda tire iron r u using?

thanx

riley

go find and buy a thin walled socket from sears. My lugs are 19 mm and the lug nut key is 21 mm

you should be tightening your lugs with a torque wrench (80 ft-lbs per manual), and not your tire iron from the trunk.

have you ever warped a rotor? Harbor Freight has a 'good enough' torque wrench for like $20. Worth ever penny

always torque you wheels, pus it helps to keep the rim true and they torque them so when the rotors and wheel heats up and expands the rim and wheel will expand at the same rate, in order to not streach the lugs.

Then re-torque them after about 100 miles.
You'll be surprized!

sure.. and stores all over the place

This one will do fine for occasional use. Dont drop it hard. Daily use and ability to take some hard bumps is what separates a $20 torque wrench from a $150 torque wrench. I've had mine for years and use it a few times a month, its just like this one.

I had the same problems. At first I used a thin wall socket, but I still had a hard time. Finally I got a Gorllia Wrench (with thin wall sockets) at summitracing.com part #GOR-1334 for $17
