Has anybody done any INTERESTING things (mods) to their STOCK 18s?

Hi guys,

I have constantly considered upgrading to 19s or sticking w/ 18s. At this point in time though, I am curious if anybody has done anything cool w/ their stocks to give them a bit of a differentiating factor from other stock 7 spokes?

I know copbait got them black chromed... has anybody done a machine polish on the rims?

Or maybe interesting types of powder coats?

I have a DG, any suggestions on what might be nice would be much appreciated! I was also thinking about a drop and maybe spacers to bring the rim out so it's more flush w/ the fenders, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

IMO the best looking wheels are the stockers...you just know they are simple, high quality, and great lines. I just puirchased a set of Chromed stockers and cant wait to put them on my coupe. I have seen black powdercoated ones on diamond graphite and red coupes that looked good and sporty, but I prefer a classier look.

Hope this helps
David

I agree with csukoh78's comments: "IMO the best looking wheels are the stockers...you just know they are simple, high quality, and great lines."

....except for the "high quality" part... they are not...paint chips too easily. They
spraypaint these wheels? I can't think this is powder coat. I've seen cheaper
car wheels with better paint (like Honda's, etc).

Thanks for the reply guys. I dunno if the chrome look is for me... but something I definitely want to try is a MACHINE POLISH look? Anybody ever think of doing this? I was perusing around the net and found these pics of a JETTA that did it to his/her MILANOS. Check out these before and afters.

PLUS I HAVE some scrapes on my front wheels that I'd like to remove (which ever process can take care of this too would be awesome)
