I did on mine. Many aftermarket wheels require them for proper fitment.

Unless the wheel perfectly fits the center flange absolutely yes. You will want to find them made out of metal, hopefully aluminum. Avoid the plastic ones as brake head and destroy them.

Volks do not come with hub centric rings. You can buy it from them though.

Aluminum hub rings

Here ya go. My friend recommended these after he noticed some warping to his front plastic ones that came with his Volks after a weekend at the track. I switched my out after I saw his warped rings. Just make sure you brush some anti-seize on the rings before you install them on the wheels and hubs unless you want them on there for good. Hope that helped.

If a wheel is custom made it may not need rings. HRE makes their wheels to fit exacting specs of the car. I heardh iForged will do so if requested. For manufacturers to make wheels custom for every car would increase the cost. SO they make wheels to fit many cars and all they need to complete the fitment is that hubcentric ring. I've used aftermarket wheels about 15 years and have no problem with the rings.

Tip for people using aluminum rings, make sure you put anti-sieze grease. Or else the heat will make the rings stick to your hub and the dealer or whoever will have a difficult time changing your rotors.
