Front + Back Tire size?

I was just wondering... Are your guys' tires different sizes for your rears and fronts?

My car, the past owner, had fronts 235/50R17 and rears 245/50R17. Unfortunately, because of this, i can't rotate my tires (because my rears are balding) so i have to buy new tires...

What do you guys think? Should i get the same size all around or get wide rears?

Are cars typically use a staggered set up because are cars are rear wheel drive! I use a 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 rear. You should check the rims to see if they are trully staggered(it will be stamped on the inside of the rim). If its all wheel drive I'm not real sure on the subject! I'm sure someone with all wheel drive could chime in...good luck!

You could also use the search!

this is another case of something that is easily searchable. the staggered wheels are standard on the G35.

you cannot rotate the tires. the rear rims itself (not just the tire) is wider with an increase offset, so while you can put the the same size tired for all of them (you'll just stretch the rear a bit), if you rotate them, your front rim will be wider than your rear. Also the rear wheel well is designed for this wider rear, so if your rear wheels got moved to the front, your rear would look even more funnier.

infact, many of the best aftermarket setups go for an even wider rear stance.. I was running at 235/30/20 on the front and 275/30/20 on the rears.

The 17s are only a 7.5 and 8 stagger. You could run the same size front and rear and be ok.

Rotating no, pulling the tires off and swapping front to back yes.

And 225/50 (oem size) is not a stretch on an 8" wheel.

i'm pretty sure he wasn't saying he wanted to pull the tires off and swap them. he wanted to rotate the tires which he can do by himself at home easily. pulling the tires off... not so much.

and 225 on a wheel that is designed for a 245 is KIND OF A STRETCH, which is what i said.

I think under a technicality a 225/50/17 on a 17x8 is "stretched" by about half an inch, but in reality I don't even think a lot of the fitment guys would consider it stretched because they're used to much more extreme cases.

OP I'd just buy the same tire sizing if it's absolutely necessary. What brand/model tires? Pics of the wear?

Well i had a flat on my back right so i took it to the shop, they found a nail and patched it up for 20$. But the guy also recommended replacing the tires because the tires were "bald". Too me, The tires are perfectly fine but i'm no expert. Pics will be up in 5 min.

I see, yeah I'd just replace them with the same sizes, personally.

Yup, time for new ones. Typical to have the rears go first in these cars. Can't run the same size all around due to VDC issues. Keep them diff sizes front/rear.
