General G-Max tires
General G-Max tires
Has anyone ran General G-Max tires? I have 19's on my G35 and put them on the front and they seem to be extremely noisey tires. I had a custom blazer with 36' mudders on it they were quiet compared to these.
Return them if you can (some shops allow a 30 day return policy).
Kumho Ecsta SPT are quiet and better tires. Hankook makes a set that everyone seems to like as well.
Much better bang for buck around. Never buy Nankang though. Ever.

The General G-Max AS-03 has been a very popular choice for our customers and I haven't heard many people complain about noise at all. Try out Continental DWSes if you need an all-season.
Thus far has been an ok tire, not great but ok. Winter results are stilll pending as they haven't seen a full snow season yet. I have had a couple of noise complaints but not enough to see a pattern of issues yet.

They are a bit noisy but they are a fantastic tire overall. Always listen to rock music while driving so the noise is negligible. Cold weather grip is great. Running 225 40 and 275 35 on 19's.. Pretty good for our cars with 1-2.5 inches of snow. In my opinion, they are better than the cont DWS and cheaper.

And Nankangs are the best budget tire in existence. They drift amazing and stand up to anything.
And I'm cure you Michelins were the same price as the Gennys haha
As the other guys have said, the exclaims were tough as nails and great tires.
But be all end all, I'll have to answer your question with a question of my own. What brand and model of tires did the Gmaxs replace? If you say Bridgestone or Michelin, then there's your issue. You went from the best tires on the market to entry level chinese/taiwanese etc tires.
True....^....unless they're advertised with a 90 day trial. You have nothing to lose by taking them back where you bought them a making a major complaint. I've run most quality tires on my rides, the only tire that never let me down are Michelins!

Thanks for the imput everyone. The tires replaced goodyear tires that were not meant to run in Wisconsin winters. Returning them are not an option at this point. They seem to be great in the snow but noisy at speeds below 40 mph. As far as Kuhmo brand tires go, I had them on other vehicles and have yet to them meet any life expectency they were supposed to. Definately not gonna put G's on the back when I replace them this week as snowy roads are just around the corner. Gonna go with a tire that backed by a mileage warranty
