I was planning to change the pads on my car when the time comes. I 've changed many brake pads in the past but those were floating or single pistons.

I've read up on Brembo's opposed pistons and found out that they have pistons on both sides. Let me know if this is correct.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a tool to compresss the pistons that will not damage the caliper or it's components? <P ID="edit"><FONT class="small"><EM>Edited by tonke73 on 05/01/03 01:07 PM.</EM></FONT></P>

 

Suprisingly you can remove the brembos pads with pliers!

Edit: woops you do need to push the pistons back in to install the new pad. Nissan recommends using a disc brake piston tool.

There is a tool that has a flat metal piece on one side and a threaded shaft with another flat piece attached to it. When you turn the threaded shaft the plates move apart and the pistons are compressed. Check Harbor Freight Tools for this. It costs like $4 there.
