I screwed up!!..need help fast

So I thought the black that I was seeing all over my stock 2003 g35 coupe rims was some kind of paint that happened to get on my rims from the body shop.. I got a can of paint stripper and sprayed some on thinking it was no biggy. Turns out it was a bad move. Everything came off down to bare metal. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE NAME OR EXACT COLOR OF the OEM wheels are? The body shop said that they would do it for free off get the paint. Silver? Gray? Gun metal? Idk. Doesn't help that I'm color blind. Lol

You're not going to get them back to exact OEM colour. I don't think that colour was ever released to us.

Just tell them to match the colour to silvery gunmetal as best as possible! Not like you'll know the difference haha.

You might want to track down a powder coater and see how close they can match. Powdercoat comes in a ton of colors with and without metal flake. Powdercoat also stays on better than paint since it's electroplated and then baked on. It's typically a more uniform finish on uneven surfaces like wheels so it looks better and lasts a long time.

The powdercoater won't be able to match the color based on the color's name....they'll just have to match up the color with their color chart. In the end, I think you'll be happier with powdercoat.

Best of luck to ya....

Powder coating is the way to go on wheels, makes em bullet proof. If we knew more about your Infiniti (color) you might get some about what color to P/C your wheels. No pic in your garage or anywhere else....Gary

Sorry, I'm mobile till my sons gaming rig is finished building. I have a laser red coupe. I was thinking pc black, but I do like how this dull looking silver looks. It stands out a lot. 19" forgiato in near future. The bare metal on these rims feels really ruff.

Interesting. When I bought mine off-lease, they ground down the road rash and then I assume painted them. Getting new tires showed the pain they used was most likely just a rattle can.

PC provides a much stronger finish? How well does it hold up with bad tire mounting shops?

I'll look up pics of polished 19's as well.

Duplicolor silver charcoal metallic matches well. It's a ford color code 1q
