Sorry for the noobish sounding question but Im looking to pick up a set of wheels for my 05 X that are 18x8.5 +50 all around. I have BC's on my G but don't plan on slamming it, just most likely closing the gap between fender/tire. My question is with the +50 offset what size spacers would I need to run for it to be flush? Im on stock 17"x7" (+45mm) now, so how would this 18" setup compare? Also what size tire would look good on 18x8.5? Thanks in advance!

Best source of info for offsets and tire diameters here, check some of the other specs being run.

This is a bad guess, please make sure you know what you are talking about before guiding our members down the wrong road. +50 is so sunken in it might not clear the strut or knuckle.

OP I'm running 19X8.5 +23 up front and 19X9.5 +33 out back and I'm perfectly flush. The front tires are 225/40/19 and the rears are 245/40/19 for reference.

 

Thanks for the input fellas. I did some research and the M45 Sport 19's also have a +50 offset and theres a ton of 1st gen sedan that have run them so I think I should be ok. I ordered the wheels already and put in a order for tires also. If it gives clearance problems I'll prob pick up a set of 15-20mm spacers. For tires I went with Continental 235/45/18's. Should I be okay with these? Like I said earlier, Im lowered but not slammed. Chose to do 45's to have bit more meat and not harshen up the ride.

 

at +44 my stuff was just about flush for a sedan on my 3rd set of wheels, at plus is just pushing the face of the wheel out so really not a lot of lip at all on 8.5 wide wheel.

Blue Dream, your offsets are a tad more aggressive than your average user, but you also failed to not disclose the neg camber you are running or the fender roll you have. Based on the post from buzz, he is not looking to be that aggressive so thank you for the schooling.

Blue Dream barely runs any camber at all, but yes he does have his fenders rolled, which you have to do to achieve a somewhat flush look...

 

^ don't need to, just have the member post the pics with and without the spacers. As far as the flush look, only if you are riding slammed, then u need a fender roll, if you're not messing with stock height no need. Don't get me wrong, his stuff looks great, but when he starts the conversation by saying bad news, please, just cause he was able to achive the look he wanted, does not make him the source.

 

Note that the OP is running lowered... states that he wants to close the gap from the fender to the tire.

Now take my car last summer, lowered about where he states he wants to be. I was running OEM coupe rays, which are 8 +30 up front and 8.5 +33 in back.



Rear sits fairly flush with the fender but still room for wheel to go out some. That wheel is 17mm more aggressive than the wheel you said would sit fairly flush...

Just saying.

A 8.5 +50 will indeed be very sunken in the fenders. Unless you stretch tires or run really short sidewalls, the tires will also rub the suspension upright in the front.

 

Ok let's clear this up. You told the OP that at +50 his wheels would sit fairly close to the fender. That's 27mm farther from the edge of the wheel well than mine sits which is an inch, how's that "fairly close"? So you were wrong and I'll stand by that. Songle's right, the rear Rays at 8.5 +33 sit damn close which is 17mm more aggressive than the +50. Now I'm no fitment guru and never professed to be and I wasn't talking out the side of my butt, I speak from personal experience.

And to answer another question you had, I achieved my stance and am running factory specs on toe and camber with rolled fenders. Got 40K miles out of my last set of Hankooks, show me another G that's dropped with that kind of longevity.
