Have to redo my wheels AGAIN b/c tire mounters fault

Hi all, I am so sick of people that don't respect the money that others and myself put into our cars, especially the WHEELS!
I had once scuffed my wheels on a curb when I was parallel parking on one tired beat night. Yes that was my fault so I payed for the repair w/o being upset at anyone but myself. Recently though, my friend who I trusted to put tires on my wheels w/o scuffing them had failed miserbaly. Not only do I have scuffs around the lip, but also around the center cap on one of the rims, there are chipped paint spots from removing the cap. BTW, only the two front wheels I had tires installed on so the rear two are fine.

Here's what I have to ask: I've seen people paint there wheels before and I realize that they can come out good when done right. I want to know if its better to get these powder coated AGAIN and waste money, or redo these my self???

If I do redo these wheels myself, I wanted to get a color that would closely match my color now and mayb give it an extra metallic touch if possible. Mainly I want the lightest silver possible and if I can put a touch of white crystal metallic on top to give it that metallic shine. Please inform me if this is possible to do w/o powder coating and any opinions on what I should do with these wheels.

YES, I did research and no I didnt find a thread answering all my questions.

If you want a professional looking job take the wheels to a professional to get fixed. And I would have your friend pay for the repair.

I know its his fault and he said he would take care of it but that was like 3 months ago. I just sent them out to get them redone by the one who took care of them before. Hes gonna take care of me b/c I sent him guys before.
As for my friend I just wont trust him anymore on certain things and I wont recommend him to others.

I have a question on painting wheels. If you paint wheels slow and with many coats. Like 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. Will this make them last as long as a proffesional finish?? I want to know for future reference.

Am I the only one wondering why your retarded friend had to remove the center cap to replace the tires? non-professional workers will produce non-professional results.

How does one balance a wheel while the center cap is still in it?

Non professionals love to give advice on the professions they know nothing about!

To my understanding powder coating is about $40-80 per wheel in my area.
If its only the two wheels I would just get it done professionally.
You can just redo the two wheels for <$100

When you say do it yourself, I assume you mean rattle caning it.
If that's what your talking about, definitely go with the powder coat.
Rattle can chips a lot easier and considering the time and effort + supply costs into doing it.
Even if you paid yourself $10/hr (min. wage here) the final cost would still sit about the same as powder coating.

Everyone has their justification, for me, I wouldn't bother.

Hope this helps,
Shyun

I wish it was around 80$ per wheel around here. No body does less than 100$ per wheel and thats usually when doing all 4. Its fine though, things happen. I got them done and I got popped. The worse thing is I was about to buy ART pipes to finish off my exhaust setup but now I have another problem.

Was driving on the highway when I hit a massive ripped truck tire. Couldnt avoid, it was at night and seen last second. Destroyed my front lip and bumper. Now bumper needs to be redone and also have clear bra reinstalled. Life sucks!!!
