I know plenty of people with Vossen and don't have any issues. I wouldn't say they're a crappy product based on that. That said, years ago, before I had my import, I had a HORRIBLE experience with them. Since then, I have chosen not to deal with them. But, in this case, it really sounds like your car. Good luck either way Gunny. HOO-RAH!

Quote: I have a 05 coupe and ordered new vossen VVSCV3 and hankook v12's. I had shaking from the get go that they couldnt ballance out then two weeks later the paint was bubbling and chipping off the wheels. A sceond set was sent out and there where scratches on all the wheels and bubbles in the paint out of the box. Vossen said I they wont be sending out anymore wheels. I really wanted the wheels so I kept the second set. (my mistake) After I had them mounted I had such a bad shake everything in my car vibrates! I went back to have them re balance the wheels 5 times and still it shakes. I will be sending them off to a wheel repair shop in two weeks to see if they can be salvaged. I started doing some research (which I should of done before) and there are alot of complaints with the finish chipping off and vibration problems. Luxury, performance wheel ...I think not. Dont waste your money!
Very sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced. Which Vossen dealer you have been dealing with? I do apologize and would like the opportunity to diffuse the situation and get to the bottom of this. Please feel free to contact me direct at diego@vossenwheels.com with pictures of the defective areas as well as information on when and where you purchased. As for the vibrations, it could be several things! Please have a road force test done using a hunter 9600/9700 machine to figure out the issue. It could be a defective tire, improper balance or maybe hub rings were not installed. It is very rare to come across workmanship issues but if you are experiencing clearcoat issues then that will certainly fall under our warranty guidelines and we can replace free of charge. Please contact me and we will go from there. Again, very sorry for what you have been dealing with.

I had no idea Vossen Wheels could be had for around 2k brand new. Never researched them as I'm not a fan of the way they look.

I'm happy with my BBS

Im so glad I decided to look this up before I bought some. I had no idea this was a common issue, or an issue at all for that matter. Hope you get them fixed. They still look good

Any news on what's is going on? Have you gotten in contact with Diego at vossen? How many sets of wheels do you have? What happened to the other set? Did you have a road force test done? Maybe find a buddy that can swap wheels and see if he can replicate your issue?

Fill us in please

Far from common. First time I have ever heard of it and OP is not providing quite a bit of information.

Yea, I'm not a fan of Vossen wheels as far as design but I've never heard of any issues like this. It's definitely not a common thing. If a company makes a large amount of the same product there are bound to be issues in some of them. Work, Volk, Rays down to Varrstoens, XXRs and other brands will all have problems with a small percentage. The OP just happens to be one of the unlucky few that's gotten what seems to be a bad wheel. But even with everything he's said I believe like WhosYourBuddie has stated that the underlying issue is something mechanical and not the wheels themselves. Just my .02

I have my stocks back on for now and it's back to smooth road's. I have finals then in 2 weeks from now ill take them to get the road force test done. If still a issue ill contact Deigo @ vossen. Just sucks going through so many problems for the past few months over wheels. Ive had ssr comp's down to cheap tenzo and rota's when I first started driving and never this much grief.

don't think it's been mentioned in this thread, but did you change anything else on the car?

Did you get an alignment?
