19" Front 20" Rear

I know this has been covered here and there but I saw a Lambo Gallardo with this setup and was wondering what the point of it is? Is it all for looks? Does it help performance? I figured some of our resident gurus could shed some light on this subject.

If you're looking for traction, running a smaller diameter wheel in the rear would actually be beneficial.

There's no way 20s would help performance, let alone 19s. 19/20 is just plain weird IMO.

Then why does Porsche, Mercedes, Lambo., etc run this setup for some their cars? If it's good for an exotic it's good for me.

Those cars are designed for it. Going from an 18 inch wheel to a 20 inch wheel will give no tangible benefits, unless you're into loss of traction and unsprung weight.

If you like traction, running 20's in the rear is not recommended. If you're going for looks, then by all means.

it's just like anything else. Some people do it for performance some do it for looks. It's good if you want a lot of rake towards the front and get some really low profiles on a small diameter wheel.

Doesn't it give the car an angle? The rear seems like it would be up a bit higher if the car had 20's in the rear and 19's in the front to give it a sportier look right??

So does the new Mercedes CLK AMG DTM. 19s in the front, 20s in the rear.

19/20 combo is for looks only.I had way better handling with my 18 with 295 fronts and 335 rears, but the 19/20 look so cool.

Sorry for the huge pic

It would if that 20 was 10 inches wide in the rear and the 19 was 9.5 in the front. Performance maybe not, but handleing might improve a bit wearing some bigger shoes. Performance wise it will be a heavier rim and larger so yes it will slow you down a bit with the weight+extra rotational mass. Looks wise it would be SWEET! With some nice aggressive rims, maybe a 3.5-4 inch lip in the rear and 2 inch lip up front, it would look pretty dam mean.

Oh and Slammed, your car is ****en SWEEEEEEEET!
