Any opinions on aftermarket 18s?

If there's already a thread for something similar please post a link. I searched and didn't find my answer.

I recently saw a G coupe on Instagram (StrictlyGZ) that had some 18" Cosmis wheels and thought it was done really well. I usually like a little bigger wheel but just curious on some peoples opinions with aftermarket 18s. I've never considered them until I just saw it done right. I have a coupe and I'm thinking about what route I want to go. I used to have a Z with a nice set up but sold everything with that car (shouldn't have lol).

I really would like some pics and hear some thoughts. Also would like to see some pics of oem 18s done right (lowered/spacers/tire size change) Thanks!

Not my favorite wheel design, but 18" fitment isn't that hard to pull off. Next set will be a little more impressive / share-worthy (waiting on lips to arrive) but there's a lot to be said for 18s.

Rationale for using 18s - Lighter than similar 19s/20s, tires are slightly cheaper (less so than they used to be though), some higher performance tires are not available in larger diameters.

G35 OEM 19s and be done with it. They look great, they fit, and they are strong. Cant go wrong.

Why would you recommend an OEM 19 when the guys is asking for info on aftermarket 18s? That's not even close to what the thread is looking for...

I dunno what the wheels he mentioned in the OP are, but 6-7+ year old OEM wheels that have been through god knows what aren't as attractive an option as they once were. There are decently priced options that also provide good quality out there. Wouldn't recommend going cheap just for the sake of saving a buck, but you don't need to break the bank to get something safe and reliable that will fit well.

The Cosmis he mentioned are even cheaper than Varrstoens and Rotas. (like800-900 a set) That is why I said OEM 19s would be much better looking, much safer and maybe even a little cheaper.

These are 18x8 +35 on my x. I'm running 245/45/18's now, but will definitely drop to 235's on the next set. If I have the wheels that long...

Fair enough. I read it as "I saw these wheels (the cosmos or whatever) and it got me thinking about 18s" rather than "I'm interested in these cheap wheels"

Enkeis are a perfectly respectable option for really not much more than the price range you mentioned. Like I said, you don't have to break the bank for something not shitty, and TSWs aren't too bad either for about the same range you mentioned although I don't know what sizing they offer that works for us

Good catch Mike on the 18s appreciation thread

^ your exactly right. Not looking at Cosmis, simply stating the brand of the wheel that I saw. I don't personally care what brand peoples wheels are for opinions, just want to see some aftermarket and stock 18s done right. I'm aware of the oem 19s option, they are definitely an option I'm considering as well. I currently have the stock 18s and was curious to see some of them done right for some inspiration until I can afford something that's not XXR lol.

Thanks for the replies and the link! If people still want to post here I'd still love to see! Thanks again!
