Is this safe temporarily?

So, getting over winter here in PA and these potholes are just ridiculous. I have blown out three or four tires over the past few months. It's not even my driving they pop up out of nowhere and in the worst spot where sometimes I don't even have a chance to slow down before I see it.

So, I just put on my summer tires (they're almost bald), so I ordered a new set and I'm awaiting for their arrival. However, one of those tires blew out yesterday and rather then use the donut I have. I put one of my 18" winter tires now until they arrive, which will hopefully be sometime next week (I have 19 OEM Rays).

I know you're not supposed to mix winter/summer tires, but I can't be without my car until the new ones arrive and my commute both ways is about 40 miles. I don't want to put a lot of miles on that donut you know what I mean?

Overall will this be safe for a few days until my new tires arrive?

Thanks.

You need to make sure that the tire diameters are about the same, otherwise your VDC is going to freak out. Otherwise, you are fine.

I'd rather have a regular sized tire on there than a donut spare IMO

Have you considered putting your winter wheels back on until you get new tires?

Well I have blown out tire on my winter size as well, so that's why I had to mix them for now, lol. This winter was terrible for myself and a lot of people in my area!

I have 225/40/19 and 225/40/18 in the front for now. The rears are 245/40/19.

Thanks for the responses just wanted to make sure it would be okay.

It depends on the size of the pothole. I know who to call in the city to get my money for a blowout, but every area is different.

Are your rims still round? I have never blown a tire in my life, I can believe you have blown 4 this year. I lived in MD for years and now in Cincy.

I know some of my winter rims are bent. I don't think my RAYS are, but the passenger might be after that last pot hole.

I know I never had problems with tires or wheels until this past winter. I looked into trying to get reimbursed for the damage, but I think PA is actually protected by law from reimbursing people for damage....I know crazy right.

Well, had Firestone order me some Hankook Ventura R-S3 from tirerack. They're on sale 540 for all four and couldn't pass it up. Ended up costing me about 660 after all said and done.

Probably okay if the diameters are okay as mentioned.

Combination of different sizes and dedicated snow with dedicated summer... not a combination I would suggest.
