Purchasing New Wheels for Sedan - What Offset?

I will be purchasing 19x8.5 wheels for my G35 Sedan. I am having trouble on what offset to go with.....38mm or 45mm? Anybody who has purchased wheels for their sedan, please provide your recommendations.

Thank you.

Dave

Go to the wheel section of this forum....lots of pics and info there. Off the top of my head I think skeleton cru is running 19 x 8.5's with a +38 offset and it looks smooooooth.....good luck.

Both will work.
Some ppl even have a 9.5 with a 38mm offset but thats pushing it to the limit. If you want you could do 45 up front and 38 in the back to give it a staggered look if thats what your looking for.

I've got 19 x 8.5 with a 35 offset. I'm running 245/35/R19's with no rubbing, clearance, or fitment issues (lowered on H-Techs). Hope this helps.

38mm is perfect.

The 45mm in the front will likely rub against the control arm, it will sit too far in. I think the 38mm is absolutely perfect, you will not be disappointed.

Don't do a 45mm offset on a 8.5" wide rim on the front and absolutely don't do 38mm on a 9.5" wide rim in the rear.

8.5" wide rims and a 38mm offset will clear 255's front and rear on the sedan.

Not only will the 9.5 with 38mm rear fit it will acconmidate up to a 275 tire. Check ppls set up.

Enkei measured clearances on the sedan. They found that a 18x9" 38mm offset rim with a 245/45-18 tire came with 2mm of the rear fender lip. A 9.5" rim with the same offset move's the wheel and tire 6mm close to that fender lip that had only 2mm to spare, and that does not account for the extra tire width. Over the years I have learned one thing, people like to lay claim to tire clearances on cars that have yet to see the full use of the the avaliable wheel travel.

it really depends on the wheel brand and wheel type you are getting why not x9.5 for rear to get more traction
