Aftermarket TPMS

I need to buy 8 new TPMS, so I'm looking into aftermarket sensors. Specifically, the Dorman Direct Fit model (not multi fit). When buying 8 of them, there is a substantial difference between aftermarket and OEM prices.

My question is: Will I be able to program the aftermarket sensors using the paper clip method? Or will I have to get them programmed with a TPMS tool? I have everything I need to install the sensors (including a paper clip), but I don't have access to a TPMS tool.

Thanks
