Tire size / Suspension question
Tire size / Suspension question
Hey guys, I have a 2004 G35 coupe with the 18 inch OEM rims, and the size it recommends for me online is 225/45/18 in the fronts and 245/45/18 in the rears. I lowered my car on Tanabe coilovers, and my car sits pretty low, but I guess it could be lower. I'm currently looking for my front tire sizes, and I seen some that are 225/40/18, so my question is will that work? I understand it will lower the height of my tire, but by how much? Will it make that much of a difference? I guess it would look nicer with the front lowered and it would give a nice stance to my car, but I wanted to ask you guys first what you guys think. Also, I'll be going to the suspension section of the forum, but if you guys know, since I lowered my car, I'm not sure if it comes with a camber adjustment on the coilovers I got, but since my tires tilt in, what kind of camber kit do I get? And do I just zero it out to make it back to original settings? Thanks for any input!
Can't tell if trolling, but I'll try to be helpful anyway..
Yes, the 40 profile tire will work, but the load rating will be lower, your speedometer will read high (and odo will climb faster), and your fender gap will get larger. I wouldn't do it, but it's up to you. To figure out how much the diameter change will affect your speedo, use an online calculator like this:

In regards to your alignment, a coilover set alone will not give you any camber adjustments. For that, you'll need an aftermarket camber kit. If you want to install it yourself, go ahead. But for dialing in the alignment you'll need to bring it into a shop. If you're unsure of what specs you want, just ask them to put it to factory specs:
