G37 Sport MT Tire Size
G37 Sport MT Tire Size
Hey Guys,
I have the 08 G35 Sedan, with G37 Sport MT wheels and Eibach Sport springs. I am thinking about putting on some 265 tires. Will 265 be overkill and am i going to have issues with rubbing? the is for the rear wheels, btw.
thanks!

9" is the minimum rim width recommended for a 265, your 8.5" rims are best for 245 to 255s, the 265s will have sidewall roll under heavy cornering, a slight stretch mount would be preferred over this pinch mount.
I'm running 275/40 in the back. I saw that the mustang guys with the 8.5 width rims were doing this. Slight bulge but rides great . No rub, not even close. And those sideways power drifts when I hit 2nd gear are now gone. I'm scared to go back to a 245.
I too have deliberated over tire size, not just on the G but on all my cars and trucks. There is a wide range of people's experience plus sizing tires. Some claim it rolls, some claim it worked out really well. In many cases I have noticed it doesnt make any different at all including appearance.
I personally prefer a little more meat and a more substantial look on OEM wheels.
It sounds like 07-G35-MT/S was able to pull of 275/40's in the rear. So you can go that high without rubbing. Weather or not it will improve, degrade or do nothing to performance and ride seems subjective and likely depends on the tire.
