Question regarding Tein Basics and comfort.
Hi guys, I currently have a Sedan 18 inch wheels with a sports suspension that I would like to drop using the Tein Basics. Could anyone care to comment whether my driving experience would increase or decrease in comfort if I decide to install the Tein basics? I really don't want my ride to be more bumpier than it is with the sports supension.
I heard that the Tein CS was great when it came to comfort, but budget is a little limited if you know what i mean..................

Obviously it will harshen a lot. The Tein Basics have 10kg/10kg front/rear stiffness, and are only ride height adjustable (so you can't soften the shocks). I have 10kg/12kf (front/rear) springs on my Tein Flex setup with 10kg/10kg shock settings (i can go up to 14) and it will knock your teeth out on some of these streets in San Francisco... On the freeway however, the ride is ok, bearable.

could you PLEASE recommend me something that will me as close to stock ride comfort that will lower my sedan ~1"
most people just say whatever they bought is the best...just dont trust em

HKS HyperMax is softer I belive, but have no hard figures for you... i am sure that if you do some research you can come up with an answer. Otherwsie, I would consider Tein Type CS, where the the rates are much more manageable 7/7 f/r.
Actually, Tein Basics are 9/9, not 10/10; just a correction, sorry, while Tein Flex are 12/12.
Let me give you another suggestion... I strongly favor coilovers... Here is what i would do if I were you. Order type basic coilovers with a custom rate... you would have to wait and pay a little more... but that's a possibility...

what rate do you suggest and do you personally know of any companies that I could get it from?

I have the Basics on my Coupe. To be honest, yes it is a bit stiffer then stocks but the ride isn't really that bad for what you gain with better handling of your car. Plus, the price of the Basics is really good IMO. I have to agree with Gurgen about strongly favoring coilovers. If you are in SF/NorCal, I wouldn't mind giving you a ride for you to get a feel of the Basics. Goodluck.
