Small Bend on Inside of 19in

2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe

Has anyone seen this happen? I’ve been hearing road noice get louder and louder. My first thoughts where a wheel hub/bearing going bad since I’m at 130k and haven’t changed them.

If you notice the LiDAR video, the tread wear is less worn on the opposite side of the bend in the rim (where the balance weight is)

Looks like u hit something and bent the rim. It happens to a lot of people, including myself.

And the road noise it makes sounds very similar to a bad wheel bearing.

yeah, too bad my dumb *** ordered 2 new sets of hub/bearing that’ll be here today.

plus I’ve got 2 extra tires in my garage. So, figure I’ll spend the day changing out the hubs and get the tire changed out Monday. Inspection is due.

Thanks for the reply

also, what’s the best way to get the bend out? I carefully beat on the bend this a framing hammer last night before I took those pictures. It was worse.

I was thinking taking the tire off the rim and heating it up then do my best to ‘repair’it.

If its making noise when u drive then I would assume your rim is actually bent too, not just the lip. Maybe if u removed the rubber off the rim u could hammer it back straight. Ive never tried it though. I sold my bent rim for pretty cheap.

Bends like that are typically from potholes.
