I am having an issue matching tires front/rear by brand.

I have a great set of 245/40R19 Toyo on the rear.
My front 245/35/19 on the front are completely shot.

The style of tire I have is not available in 245/35/R19 to replace the front.

My question is: can I run the 245/40R19 in the front and do a 255/35R19 in the rear so my tread patterns match?

The 245/40R19 is 26.7" tall and the 255/35R19 is 26" tall.

Is a shorter rear tire an issue with VDC at all?
My tire guy is telling me that many staggered setups are taller in the front than rear.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I feel running a 255/40R19 in the rear would be a better match for the 245/40R19 fronts. This wold be a 1.1% difference

stock 19" for the g35 coupe is 225/40R19 (26.1") and 245/40R19 (26.7") with a difference of 2.3%

did you like the look of the smaller front diameter? you original setup of 245/35R19 (25.8") and the rear 245/40R19 was a 3.5% difference.

For the g37 sedan sport wheels, the stock tire size is 225/50R18 (26.9") and 245/45R18 (26.7") so the front is slightly taller and 0.7% difference

The g37 coupe sport wheel have 225/45R19 (27") and 245/40R19 (26.7") with a 1.1% difference and slightly taller front

So its fine to have a taller front

 

good info here... how well do the stock wheels handle 245 40 19 in the front? On an 03 coupe btw...

Also, would 225 35 19 be too small vs 225 40 or 245 40?

 

Which wheel is standard on the 03 coupe? it just depends on the width of the front wheel as there is a range for properly fitting tires.

225/35r19 is a tiny tire with regards to the sidewall profile. Its a 25.2" diameter.

225/45R19 matches well with a 245/40R19 with a 1.1% difference

225/40R19 is about 2% smaller than a 245/40R19, but is fine to run on a rwd.

 

For the '03-'04 6MT coupes (which the OP appears to have) the factory sizes are 225/45-18 front and 245/45-18 rear. 225/40-19 is the front factory size for the later model year coupes that had 19" wheels as a factory size.
