245/40/18 front and 245/45/18 rear?

I am doing this setup on my G coupe, I was wondering if anyone else has this setup and have any problems with it? I went to the dealer today and they kept on saying this setup will throw off the VDC and I think they're full of crap. Anyone can confirm? Thanks.

not sure how to calculate stagger, but as comparison:

factory stagger 2.66% (rear vs front)
your stagger 3.62%

I think you are plenty fine... my current stagger on 19's
3.11% (245/35/19, 275/35/19). absolutely no issues.

Depending on brand - The stagger should remain exactly the same. Doing straight math may show slightly different results, but in the real world using tire manufacturers specs., the 245/40/18 has the same OD as the 225/45/18. The only change you will notice will be less understeer due to the wider tires in front. The car will be more neutral. You could also put 255/45/18 in the back. VDC will not be affected.

Good Luck

Lou

I had 255's on the rear of my coupe for over a year. Pilot sports. Good fit & grip.

NOW, before i get flamed, don't bother, I don't care.

I'm am also not reccommending this to anyone else,
it's just what I have.

I currently have: (stock 17x8in rims all the way around)
Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 275/40/ r17 on the rear
Michelin Pilot Sports ..........255/45 f17 on the front

Super grip, nice predictable ride
FYI

bailey,
how does a 275 tire look on a 17'' rim?? I have a 19x10 inch rim in the back w/ a 285 tire...just curious how it works...

btw, any specific reason as to why your running iridium plugs?? if i recall you did have the small 'NOS' bottles you had bought from ebay...is that the reason your running those plugs?
