Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...My 05 Sedan lowered with Tanabes...

Hey all. First off, let me tell you about my experience while searching and reading, and then I'll tell you about my 05 Sport-suspension-equipped sedan.

1) I read for weeks about people's experiences with sedans with sport suspension.
2) I was unhappy with how rough, unresponsive, and wheel-hoppy my car was with my aftermarket 19s.
3) I chose Tanabe, after reading the specs. I chose the NF210 series, specifically for the sedan.

Tonight, thanks to PhxBlue (another member here on the forums with an 05 coupe), we dropped my sedan on the Tanabes.
1) Install went great, took about two and a half hours with us messing around and talking. A lot.
2) Rear end was harder than the front, as the lower cups just would not align with the rear spindle.
3) Front was cake.
4) We cut the bumpstop in half (leaving, of course, the top half of the bumpstop back in the boot).
5) We finished it all up, tightened everything once more using torque wrenches and some man power (no air tools baby, old school)

Finished product
1) Car looks amazing (wait till you guys see the pics tomorrow)
2) Oh my God. I love the way my car feels. It is nowhere as rowdy, rough, and just plain confused over speed bumps. The car feels like a sport sedan, and having driven home for 30 miles from PhxBlue's house back to mine, I took both a rough freeway, a smooth freeway, horrible streets, and nicely paved streets home. The judgement is in. The car feels incredible. My rear wheels no longer hop when taking a corner. The rebound is controlled, perfectly, over every speed bump, pothole, irregularities in the roads, etc. I took some sharp turns (that I regularly take when coming home), and the car really feels like a different car. I have not been able to bottom it out, it is so smooth and elegant (and my buddy who followed me home in his 05 WRX wagon said that the car no longer had this odd bounce that it used to when rocking down the freeway).
3) All in all, great night, great friends, great cars, and a truly beautiful finished product. I am beyond satisfied with the outcome, and anyone looking for a very smooth ride with absolutely 0 negative side effects should purchase a set of the Tanabe NF210s for their sedan (especially if you have the sport suspension). I will write a great e-mail to Tanabe for a product well designed/executed.

I am tired, hands are tired, and I gotta get some sleep. I will take pics as time allows tomorrow, I just wanted you all to know that after 4 weeks of reading and talking to people, I picked a fairly unconventional spring (not many users of it, as I have noticed), but am so happy I picked them.

Questions? Feel free to post.
Alex

They claim 1.5 all the way around, but I'd say the front dropped 2.0 easy and the rear is dead on around 1.5 (we didn't measure, as I don't care), but there is a 1 finger gap up front and about 1.5 gap in rear. It sits almost perfectly level.

And now, some pics....please note that my house is on a mountain, hence why the car looks weird (because the guy is replacing the windshield in my driveway), I just wanted you all to see some pics real quick, but I will wash the car and take some better pics.
Here we go...

Well, the alignment seems to be no issue (no pulling, no visible camber in front, slight in the rear), so I will take it to the dealer and have it aligned. No rubbing whatsoever, and I will take some pics as soon as it gets a wash, and is parked level (so as soon as the windshield dude leaves).

Are these linear springs? Do you know the spring rates for the front and rear? Thanks!

Wheels compliment your sedan beautifully. RandyG35 do you know the difference between the nf and the df for the tanabes? If I cant stomach the 19s and no drop these springs are the front runners. Good job.

Thank you. I will be posting pics in just a few. My net connection has been doing something funky today. I can't wash the windshield for 24 hours (per Safelite), so my car won't be clean, but at least ya'll get to see what it looks like on a flat surface.....
