Unhappy Tire Shake on Toyo Proxes

I recently replaced the stock Bridgestone Turanza EL42s with Toyo Proxes TPTs. I had worn down to the wear bars on the Bridgestones at 40,000 kilometers so wanted a high speed all weather tire so got the Toyos.

My question is, - has anyone else had any problems with a high speed quiver or shake at above 110 - 120 kph? ( 60 - 70 mph ) I have had the new Toyos balanced 3 times and finally replaced with new ones by the tire shop and specialty balanced but there is still a very slight twitch to the steering wheel on real smooth roads.

Has there ever been a TSB on the factory wheels or steering parts that may cause slight shake? I have the Aero and track suspension with 17" 5 spoke wheels.

Any input would be appreciated.

Glenn

indeed...

also, you could have simply gotten a bad balance. it is not the tires.

also, see my post about the KDW2s. a stiff sidewall might need some WD40 to seat perfectly.

it sounds like you just need it re-balanced.

If you drive on dirt roads sometimes the dirt stuck in the treads will take the
tire out of balance..typical issue with WRX people driving after dirt roads.

I had nasty vibration on my front right tire. I have the Toyo Proxes as well. Took it to a hunter machine, and no vibration. That machine is awesome. Fixes 98% of vibration problems, or so Ive heard. You should give it a try.
