NEW HYPERBLACk PIAA's Black Coupe Pics--NEED GAP ADVICE
This is my first Thread..
.. NOOOB yes I know..
.I have enjoyed so much from this site I can't thank you enough. Especially the DIY tips that give me plenty to do when my mother inlaw invades for weeks at a time..Last stretch was 3 weeks in the garage
I recently installed my rims/tires but waited until I had the time to detail the car before sharing pics. Let me know what you think?
Overall I'm very impressed with the improved ride quality over the OEM 18 wheel and tire package..Maybe I rode the pilots way too long 25K--I really pushed them all the way to 25K....boy were they loud at the end...Thread showing in back...not my brightest move...Anyway...
NEW SET UP:
Piaa Super Rozza Hyper Black
Front 19x9 245/35
Rear 19x10 275/30
Offset is 25 on both
Considering Lowering the car but I really dont want to sacrifice ride quality as I drive a minimum of 25K a year in this car. One of the reasons I bought the G is the comfort combined with performance. The primary reason I would lower the car is visual. Do you recommend a specific set up that would retain the stock like ride quality after the drop and minimize alignment issues? OR Would a taller tire close the gap?

Even though you are changing the wheel size from 18" to 19" you should always aim at keeping the same stock tire height within 1-2%. This is crucial to preserving the speedometer reading and gear ratio.
If you want to lower for visual purposes only, a nice set of springs will be just fine.

Go ahead and look for some springs or coilovers to close that gap.
Where did you order the PIAA's?
I've been shopping eveywhere for them.
Been " " $3,997 / $3900.00 / $2,000 for just the rims etc. - 19 x 8 front / 19 x 10 rear -
Where did you get yours from and how much!

If you are lowering the car strictly for aesthetics, then install a good set of springs. They are considerably less expensive then coilovers.

As far as alignment goes, the more you lower your car the worse the alignment issues. Any more than a inch and you will probably have alignment numbers out of spec.
I lowered my sedan 1.5" and the alignment shop was able to get everything (caster, toe) into spec except my camber in the front. I am -0.1 degrees on the left and -0.5 degrees on the right. After 5k miles on my S-03's I can see slightly more wear on the inside edges of the front tires. It's not that severe, but I will probably end up getting a set of camber adjustable a-arms for the front.
