Spacers, bolts, and nuts deal from Axis

Well, over at my350z.com , James Cheng (owner of Axis) has been posting about his 350z and he mentioned how well the 350z and G35 community has "embraced" his company's wheel, the Se7en Mod. I replied to that post by mentioning that if he was so happy with the support he was receiving from these communities, he should put together some sort of deal on the spacers and bolts. Well, he did. Now, I paid around 225 shipped for 2-20mm spacers and 10 Nismo bolts (no nuts) for a customer, so I think this is somewhat of a deal. If it isn't a great deal, atleast we have a place to get it. I have included the following link and if you don't have time to go there and look, I copied and pasted the "meat" of the what was said over there. Oh and when you do call, let Mark know what vehicle you have.

"At last the spacer are made and studs are found.

the spacers are 20mm thick hubcentric centric spacer with a hub diameter of 66.1mm on coth side

the longer studs are 2.5 inches long, the caveat is that they are 12mm1.5 thread instead of 12mm1.25
thread, hence one would need new lug nuts as well.

you can purchase them at wheelstudio.com ask for Mark. He is at 562-944-0900 They are about $200.00
for the pair including 10 studs and 10 lug nuts, please mention if you need open end or closed end lug nuts.
I made a batch of spacers and he bought them all, I am waiting for more studs so I can make more
spacers. But I cannot as my supplier is out of stock."

Re: Spacers, bolts, and nuts deal from Axis

just out of curiosity...why haven't Axis decided instead to just make lower offsets for those Se7en Mods? or any other wheel they carry for the matter considering they very little selection when it comes to what fits a Z and G...instead of putting all these spacers and bolts and whatnot on and "possibly" running into safety issues...i know it takes a lot more time and r&d and all...but i see doing that as a wheel company of its stature and its impact on the Z and G community to expand a little will bring back big returns...just my thoughts

p.s. i understand that i dont know jack about making a wheel and all but i just see this as an opportunity for them to make a huge name for themselves in the Z and G community...

Volk has already jumped on the Z and G bandwagon but the problem is, is that these wheels can get just too damn expensive...now if Axis jumped in soon they'll fill the gap between cheap and expensive-*** wheels, which is what the majority of the people fall into that want good high quality wheels that don't cost you your left nut...again just my thougts

I agree...my guess is that when they protoyped this wheel or any other rim, the big brembo's were not in the equation. I think manufacturers go with the "universal" size, whatever that may be (35mm-45mm) to be cost effective and ensure factory fit. The majority of other wheel brands will probably require the G35C to have some sort of spacers to clear those huge calipers, but then again there are a few out there that will offer the different offsets. Heck, I am in the process of fitting the mods to a 2000 s4, and it requires 5mm spacers up front due to its bigger brake calipers. Unless you go custom wheel sizing, let say iForged, you will get the exact fitment, and pay a bit more too. I hope that Axis will do something in the future, but realistically, I think they will rely on spacers and such. By all means, i'm not sticking up for the company on this, but just wanted to share my thoughts...
