Adjusting rear coilovers...

Does anyone else have a hard time adjusting the height of the passenger side rear coilover? The lower portion of the gas tank is right there and doesn't allow you to give a good turn with the provided hook spanners (I have the Tein basic coilover kit). I was able to lower the rears a little more than I originally had it set to but not by much. The fronts are great and tucking tire like I want

i was wondering about this, i didnt know if you use the same hook spanners for the rear as you do the front, i just installed my basics and i didnt think the spanners would fit the rears.

The front is tucking tire and looks amazing; I can go a tad lower on the front but I've already got a 1" extra drop due to the nismo lip and am already scrapping a bit up driveways so I'm going to keep it at its current height. The rear can go down a tad bit more but the stupid gas tank is preventing me from being able to turn the hook spanners!

Here's a pic taken recently:

How low can you go in back? Could you tuck the rear if you wanted to? I'm looking for about 1.75" at least in back.

You can do away with the fuel line cover by undoing the snap clips. It'll buy you a little more room to work the spanner wrench.

Not with the Tein Basics. I think the lowest you can go in the rear is about 1.2" - I'm at about slightly less than an inch in the rear.

Thanks Clint! I'll give it another shot when I have free time. Right now it looks like my motor weighs 2 tons with the car angled forward a bit

I know you can do more than 1.2 drop in the rear with the Tein basics. I have them and currently have a 1.3 drop in the rear and 2 in the front. I will get on here later on tonight to post the actual max lowering for front and back.

G35sedan03, this will be of great help to me. I'm getting these to get the right stance, I'm not hitting the auto x any time soon.

The sooner you can post the better, I have a deal pending so I can purchase a set..Thanks so much!

Sedan's ride 1/2" higher then coupe's do, so that's why they will see a bigger drop overall on a sedan then a coupe on the same coilovers.

http://www.tein.com/infiniti.html

From Tein's spec page the max drop for Tein basics on a sedan is
3.7"/1.4"
Minimum drop for Basics on a sedan is
1.6"/0"

Again from Tein's spec page the max drop for Tein basics on a COUPE is
2.6"/1.2"
Minimum drop for Basics on a COUPE is
.7"/+.2"

The two car's do not start from the same oem right height points, so drop amounts will not be the same.

As usual GSedan35 is right. I always depend on his input for any suspension question I ay have and that's why I recommend others to do so and use the search option for his posts which are usually very informative. Thanks again.
