Talking New Tires, one word.....Amazing! PICTS

Replaced the OEM Goodyear R/AS.... after doing alot of research on brand and sizing, I went with the following....

Toyo Proxes 4

Fronts 235/45/17 Rears 245/45/17

Note that websites identify these tires as quote, unquote "Not Recommended" for our car. Looking at all the technical specs, they match up fine with the requirements and the OEM tires. I went a step further and called Toyo to talk to the tech guys. They too looked into this setup and agreed that it would work fine. I choose this tire b/c of all the excellent reviews it has been getting on handeling, tire wear, noise, and Price not to mention the tread pattern is cool looking. Let me just tell you these things grip the road like glue, corners are effortless and it feels like I am on tracks! My car feels 100 times better with these tires. I doubt the Pirelli Nero or Avons are better than these. All are inflated to 30 psi and I will watch to see if adjustmnets to that need to be done. I have pictures of these on my 17"s and will post as soon as I upload them. Just wanted to let everyone know of this other option to the 17"s as there isn't many choices when looking for a quality replacement.

Regards!

Good thing you got these tires. Remember to give some reviews if you can.

After replacing the OEM Goodyear tires on a previous car with Khumo ECSTA-Supra(s), I vowed never to buy Goodyear or Bridgestone's if there was something else sporty available. Those Khumos made the Goodyears look ridiculously poor in dry and wet grip, as well as road noise. They had very similar treadwear, heat and speed ratings, but the Goodyears were priced really high. Can't recall the model of Goodyears, but they were the equivalent of the Khumos that replaced them.

I later found that Khumo has been a race-tire supplier for a long time in Japan and had just started to break into the street-tire market. They put the Goodyears to shame... ...and at a fraction of the cost! LOL

New tires usually feel better than old [6 months] worn heat vulcanized used tires.

Most tires are tricked up to pass the 8,000 mile Federal test proceedure, it's how they work after that -- that counts.

Just curious, why do you doubt that the neros or the avons are better than those?

Not sure, these to me just set the standard really high.

Spoke to the guys in tech section of customer service at Toyo , the ones who actuallly do the inspections for any warranty claims, and they said that they have not seen any problems with the Proxes 4 what so ever and that usually a tire will go through modifications / changes in their manufacturing as issues arise and they detect reoccuring problems, but that with these they have had to do nothing which they could not believe. I was glad to hear that. Between that and the fact that all I have seen is good reviews....makes for very tough competition against the Pirellis and Avons. Guess we'll see in time.

this is the site I always use to find opinions on tires. It's been very accurate to me.

super quiet imo. ten times better than the goodyears. Many reviews where people really like how quiet they are. Big difference in feel and handleing of the car...for the better.

Got to echo your comments.
I just installed these & they're great so far. (still green)
I considered T1-R but went with the Proxes 4 due to poor delivery on the T1-R....
They are very quiet (compared to Yoko ES-100)
In the rain this morning they were amazing for grip.
