How many FT/LBS of torque should I set my torque wrench to when I put my wheels on? TIA

 

my 19s are torqued at 85lbs.

 

anywhere from 80-100 ft lbs is good enough. I dont rally torque them unless i'm going to do hot laps on the track.

 

my 20's are torqued to 85 as well.

80 is stated in the manual

 

72-87 ft-lbs according to the service manual.

 

I check torque every month. Unevenly torqued wheels will help warp rotors. Especially if you drive the car hard and heat the brakes up.

 

How is that ??? Never heard of anything like that.

 

if unevenly torqued, the force distribution throughout the rotor will also be uneven. as the rotor heats up and cools down, thereby expanding and contracting the rotor, the uneven distribution will eventually warp the rotor slightly. this is also the reason why you are supposed to do a star pattern when torquing down the wheels, as opposed to just going in a circular motion.

 

With my street driving (although spirited driving at times) the Brembo's don't get
hot enough to the touch. Im running GT3 wheels so the cooling might be
better than factory wheels..not sure.

I use 105ft/lbs on the Tirerack's $29 torque wrench..I doubt it's really 105 though...
i think it's more like 95ft/lbs. I use to use an expensive one but it fell
off the shelf and died. but I remember how tight is was by hand
using my standard 1/2" drive. My hand tightening was usually within
5ft/lbs when I double checked with the torque wrench.

 

I use 80 ft-lbs.

 

80 as stated in the manual. I don't see any reason to go higher than that.
