don't know) but have not yet made any other revisions for better

a easy lowering spring/yellow combo that matches their damp rates
better.
Koni's answer if you talk to them is that the 350Z sports and you tell them all the aftermarket spring rates, they are built to handle all known G35 and 350Z aftermarket spring rates, even Nismo SCCA T2 350Z springs. And Gordon or Lee Grimes will say they have enough rebound control to cover those T2 springs which are way stiffer then any other G or Z spring by a large margin. However, I can say from my own experience that they cannot extend to the Nismo T2 spring rates without removing a healthy amount of high speed compression damping and extending total rebound control. The only aftermarket shock made for this platform that cannot be used with aftermaket springs that are stiffer are the Bilstien H.D.'s, but thankfully they are only $65 per to revalve.

I have started my search for 2003 OEM 350z springs and have received many replies.

Here's a question.. is there any differences in the springs between the various Z models? Touring, base, etc...? Which one(s) should I consider for my G35x?

Thanks,
-Ken

Anyone know what the structural differences are between the sedan and sedan-x
struts and shocks?

Is it just the ABS sensor/brake line brackets on the front or more involved?

All Z model's in all production years have the same springs. Any 2003 donor car will do.

The only place you can get tricked is on 2004 roadster's vs 2004 Z coupes that do not have the revised suspension, all roadsters have 427lbs rear springs. A unrevised 2004 Z of course has 342lbs rear rates, hence the reason to stick with 2003 donor cars, that way you know your getting the right rear rate.

rich, if the d-specs look like those stock struts, they will not fit. if you jack up your car, you will easily be able to tell they will not fit. i would call tokico again and send them a pic(if you have a digital camera) of the x front suspension and let them compare the difference. the axle for the awd connects to the center of the rotor and runs parallel to the lower control arm to the transmission. the rwd front suspension as shown in gsedan35 pics does not have the axle and the strut goes straight down to the control arm. on our x's there is a fork that hooks around the axle and the strut sits in the seat at the top of the fork above the axle.... i wish i had pic's, it would be so much easier to show... it's really easy to take apart both the front and the rear suspension in this car and should very quick if you have the front setup and ready to swap... good luck if you do decide to go through with it and let me know if they fit... =)

I am really bummed about this. I am definitely not going to lower the car without doing a better strut. I'd like to only take it apart once. I just aquired a coupe midpipe and that is next on my agenda. Us X owners need a darn strut package!

Excellent! 'Lucky' for me, there are more 03 donors than others. Mileage on these donors ranges from 5K to 20K. I'll be making a purchase within the next few days.
Thanks,
-Ken

Thanks of the input, GSedan35. That's what I'm hearing too. However, most of these '03 have higher mileage. The lower the mileage the better, but would 20K be acceptable? What's the life expectance of springs?

Thanks,
-Ken

Oh I only brought up the mileage just so you could point out to a stuborn seller that's priced too high that I paid a fair price for relatively new springs. 20k on a spring wouldn't bother me. But really how many miles they have relies 100% on their honestly, unfortunately they can pick any number to give you.
